There Is No Place Like Home
There is no place like home. I was talking to a friend today that mentioned how his relatives come to visit in Oregon and rave about it, but when asked if they would move here they say no. They live on the east coast with all the hustle and bustle of a crazy life. Why won't they move here? Mainly because "there is no place like home". It is the same reason we can't get my mother in law to move here from the mid-west. Her comfort zone is her small town in a small apartment. Even though her child, grandchildren and great grandchild live here and she is a widow. she stays where her comfort zone is. We are creatures of habit. If we are used to cold winters and hot and humid summers we probably like that. Me, I love the rainy winters, springs and fall! I love the green of Oregon and the coast and mountains. I love the mild climit and variety of scenery. I love the small community feeling of Salem and the fact that my children are no more than a hour away. I love Oregon and love living here! My feeling is, if you stay long enough you won't want to leave and then there is no place like home-in Oregon!
